As part of our Be the Light Initiative, Eight21 Candle Company is proud to announce Candles for a Cause and our 1st community partner: Optimum Mental Health and Empowerment Center. Based in Oklahoma City, OK, OMHEC operates the Infinity Mental Health Center (IMHC) in Lusaka, Zambia. The center which just opened earlier this year, aims to provide quality mental health services to underserved communities in Zambia.
Led by Lilian Bollers, a licensed mental health professional with over 20 years of experience, the team is prepared to assess the mental health needs of the individuals they serve as well as create individualized recovery/ treatment plans.
In addition to operating the clinic in Lusaka, OMHEC has recently adopted the Luwi Lwa Nzambi Orphanage in Solwezi, Zambia. The orphanage currently houses 39 children between the ages of 2 months to 16 years. Currently in a dilapidated state, OMHEC aims to provide proper shelter, clothing, and food for the children of the orphanage. By doing so, the organization hopes to create an environment for them to thrive- emotionally, educationally, psychologically, socially and spiritually.
In partnership with OMHEC, Eight21 Candle Company will donate 50% of the sales from our Mosi oa Tunya candle. Named for the majestic falls on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, the Lozi name translates to "The smoke that thunders" and is better known to the rest of the world as the Victoria Falls.
The Mosi oa Tunya candle carries notes of ozone, fresh citrus, and soft florals. Available November 18th, 2022.

Donations to OMHEC will support their goal of providing a wholesome environment for all of the children at the orphanage. Donations will be used to purchase beds, food, clothing, books, school supplies, desks, toys, bed linens & blankets.
